Notice
The small files that help the lane run, and how you stay in control. Last updated 2 July 2026.
This notice explains how Amber Otter Lane uses cookies and similar technologies. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, and reflects the consent expectations set out under Canada's PIPEDA.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage and browser subscription tokens. They let a site remember choices, keep sessions secure, and understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.
2. Our approach to consent
When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Nothing non-essential is set until you choose, and no box is pre-ticked. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage.
3. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
- otr_cookie_choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined the banner. Stored locally on your device; no personal data leaves your browser.
- Security & delivery — our host may set short-lived cookies to balance traffic and protect the site from abuse.
Functional (only if you opt in)
- OneSignal notification token — if you enable browser notifications, our provider stores a subscription identifier so we can send new-window alerts. Remove it by turning off notifications for this site in your browser settings.
Analytics (aggregate)
- We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to see which little games readers open most. These do not identify you individually, and are only active if you accept non-essential cookies.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell any data collected through cookies.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and site storage from their settings menu. You can also browse in a private/incognito window. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of the lane work, such as remembering your banner choice.
5. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices or the technologies we use change. The current version always lives here, with the "last updated" date shown above.
